"Judges must be constantly aware that their role, while important, is limited," Judge John Roberts wrote. "They do not have a commission to solve society's problems, as they see them, but simply to decide cases before them according to the rule of law."
I'm sorry. Solve society's problems? Isn't that what JUSTICE is about? He's just disqualified himself, in my book, not that I thought he was qualified in the first place...
Law exists in the realm of potentialities to protect those with power from abusing those without. In my reading, activist judges are well within the law. Roberts, on the other hand, is waffling on a dangerous fencepost.
