Scenes from Valle Crucis, NC

Maggie says:
I spent a great weekend in the North Carolina mountains with the fam for the annual Christmas Tree Trip (yes, it deserves capitalization in our family). We spilled over into two cabins this year and cooked more food than we could handle, showed off baaaad acting skills during charades and better trivia skills for Trivial Pursuits, and even managed some hot-tubbing in the cold air under the stars. Before the tree-chopping commenced, we found downtown Boone bustling during the Appalachian State football game and shared sidewalks with bundled-up shoppers, college kids, and classic Boone hippies amidst the cheers from the stadium up the hill. Here are a couple of snapshots from an afternoon trip to Valle Crucis, a charming mountain hamlet home to the Mast General Store and its Annex, where you can still buy old-fashioned candy, boots, dish soap, fleece, hats, and cast iron all in one place.

As always, I should've taken a ton more photos... but having too much fun to be a photographer is always a good thing, right?
